Unexpected U-Turn

 It has been a while.

It was a bright and sunny day on a Tuesday morning๐ŸŒžas I made my way to attend the MC1 State of Company event organised by Reapfield Keller Williams, a real estate organisation whom I am part of.

The phrase it has been a while has taken a whole new meaning the past year, in the light of the global Covid-19 situation.

So it has been a while since I had the privilege to hop onto a LRT train๐Ÿš‰. At 8.15am, there were only a handful of commuters. Working from home is still a norm for many. I was grateful for the minimum crowd.

The U-Turn

I knew the station I had to get off at, but as I was standing near the train door, the refreshing view of the Petaling Jaya terrains caught my attention. My mind decided to switch to a wandering mode towards the list of things I had to do that day. Very typical of me and a weakness I constantly battle with each morning as I arise.  Long story short, I missed the station.๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜œJolted back to reality, the train doors closed and the station signage faded from a distance.

The beauty of this mode of transportation-Light Transit Rail, is that you can still make a U-turn within the station and get back on track to your intended destination, with minimum hassle and still make it on time for an appointment. Unlike driving, bracing the traffic, praying for a U-turn sign and searching for a parking space in the city can be a real energy zapper. It is daunting, time consuming and frustrating. ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜ค

Connection

Since school days, I have crossed paths with a few individuals named Cindy.  A beautiful name, and it is easy to remember. Over the years, these unique individuals have continuously been a great blessing to me through different seasons in life.

Coincidentally, the first person I bumped into was a Cindy! We were so glad to see each other as we have not met for almost a year. It was good to see many other team leaders, fellow colleagues and new faces, over and under the assorted coloured masks.

A warm welcome was extended and exchanged with knuckle fives (for social distancing purpose)!  The opening address was enthusiastically presented by one of our Division Director, ensuring everyone were at ease and engaging.

Awards

The theme of the event was Celebration, Achievement and Networking. Think CAN ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’ช. Organisational promotions, cappers achievements, distinctive awards went to the well deserved negotiators. We even had an Ambassador for culture award, fit to be presented to a senior negotiator with a generous and helpful heart.

Awareness

Shared by the CEO of Reapfield, awareness is a powerful state of mind. Becoming aware of whom you are and your current state in life brings relief and understanding. And most importantly, it should stir us to productive action. A reminder worth pondering upon.  ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

True Grit

A moving video was shared on how an athlete with a Down Syndrome condition (Chris Nikic), trained and completed the iron man triathlon. Chris was taken under the wings of a dedicated coach who chose to look beyond his shortcomings and customised a plan for him to succeed. Even if you achieve 1%, celebrate it. Perseverance, patience and consistency is key to stay on course with your goal.

A few reminders I had picked up for the morning.

๐Ÿ‘‰When we missed our desired or dream destination due to controllable or unforeseen circumstances, there is always a U turn to restart your journey again.

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿ‘‰Being grateful is a choice, not a feeling.

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿ‘‰Being aware and acknowledging your current state brings freedom and opportunities for review and growth.

In a nutshell, celebrate both the journey and the results of achievements. Appreciate the human beings who supported you in front and behind the scenes to make your success possible.

Before I end, here's a glimpse of an integrated project which may resonate with your current or future real estate journey.

We value your contribution and would love to hear your outlook on the property market too ! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Till then, stay safe, stay strong and stay on track ๐Ÿก๐Ÿš‰ ! It's not too late to restart.
